La Trobe University has teamed with Microsoft to build a campus centre with cutting-edge technology for students, academics and small businesses. It will help them start new facilities and research new products. La Trobe's vice-chancellor, Professor Paul Johnson, says the centre, based on Microsoft technology, will encourage the innovative abilities of the university's students to extend their entrepreneurial skills and careers. Microsoft will provide mentoring and access to the latest IT tools, and give seminars and workshops exploring emerging technologies.
